NEWS FLASH!! M.T.H. Electric Trains To Release HO ES44 Locomotives As The First Of Two New Diesel Releases This Fall May 21, 2013 - M.T.H. Electric Trains will be releasing ES44 diesel locomotives as part of two all-new HO diesels to be be unveiled this year. Like it's modern counterpart, the hugely successful M.T.H. HO SD70ACe released in 2011, the M.T.H. ES44 will also be produced with all-new, multi-slide tooling that will allow M.T.H. to recreate roadname-specific, prototypically correct models in a wide variety of roadname choices. As part of M.T.H.'s HO lineup of heritage railroads, the ES44 will initially be available in ten different Norfolk Southern heritage railroads to complement the ten different SD70ACe models shipping this summer that make up half the Norfolk Southern heritage roster. In addition, all the real-life major railoads employing the ES44 will also be represented on the M.T.H. roster when it is formally announced. Like the M.T.H. HO SD70ACe, the new HO ES44 models will be offered with Proto-Sound 3.0 and come equipped with our 28-function DCC decoder, full digital sound and a powerful, 5-pole skew-wound precision motor. Bright, constant-voltage LED lighting, remotely triggered Proto-Couplers for remote uncoupling anywhere on the layout and user-installed Kadee couplers round out the Proto-Sound 3.0 package. Additional versions will also be available with Proto-Sound 3E+ for 3-rail HO layouts as well as a non-sound equipped DCC-ready model that can be mated with a user-provided DCC decoder. Pricing, model numbers and roadnames will be announced later this summer. Anticipated delivery is slated for late 2013.
