Shipping. Orders ship from our Freeport, NY store by UPS, FedEx or USPS, normally within 1–3 business days. Standard shipping is free on orders over $99 to the continental U.S.; oversized items may carry a surcharge shown at checkout. In-store pickup is available at checkout.
Returns. Unused, unopened items in original packaging may be returned within 7 days of receipt with prior authorization. A 15% restocking fee applies (waived on an even exchange) and return shipping is the customer's responsibility. Opened paint, glue, fuel, batteries, software, gift cards, pre-orders and final-sale items cannot be returned.
Damaged in transit? Keep the carton and packing material and contact us within 10 days of the ship date so we can file a claim and send a replacement.

Description
Put the Bachmann GE 44-Ton Switcher Amtrak #1000 at the head of your model train. Onboard sound adds an audio element to model train operation. E-Z Mate couplers connect the rolling stock in a consist.
Built between 1940 and 1956, the General Electric 44-Ton Switcher was designed to replace steam locomotives in light freight duties, primarily finding use as yard switchers for class one railroads and industrial complexes. Among only a handful of locomotives permitted to operate with a single-person crew under common carrier regulations, the 44-Ton was also an appealing choice for shortlines. The reliability of the type ensured their longevity, and many can still be found in operation today, both on tourist railroads and in revenue service.
